‘A Great Place to Live & Work’
Renfrewshire is a place of outstanding natural beauty, home to Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park and a vast range of parks, woodlands and green space.
Covering an area of some 270 square kilometres, the Renfrewshire area hosts major towns such as Paisley, Renfrew and Johnstone as well as a number of attractive villages and settlements. In terms of population, Renfrewshire is the 10th biggest local authority area in Scotland with a population of around 176,000.
With a net budget of approximately £380m and over 7900 employees, providing a diverse range of services to local people, businesses and communities. The Council has a vital role to play locally; shaping the places which people live and work in, driving the local economy, providing education and learning, supporting and caring for vulnerable people and facilitating local democracy.
You may be considering moving back to the area, or been attracted by the high quality of life available. If so, relocation support is available to help you to transition into the area from other parts of the UK.
‘A Great Role: embark on a new professional challenge for the New Year’
Renfrewshire Council is seeking a strategic lead for the delivery and development of the Council’s HR & Organisational Change Service. We have already built a strong reputation for delivering quality services and improving the life of our community. The Renfrewshire Plan ‘Thriving People, Connected Communities’ outlines the next stage of our development, and sets out an ambitious agenda to transform our services and deliver even greater value for our residents.
Vital to achieving our goals is how we lead and empower our staff, and further embedding a culture of continuous improvement. This new role is a key element of how we plan on doing both even more effectively, and it is where you potentially fit in.
You will be a degree qualified, experienced senior HR Professional and a CIPD Chartered Member, with a track record of managing integrated human resource services, developing robust people strategies and plans, delivering successful change within a large-scale organisation, and offering expert professional advice to Senior Managers/Executives. Experience of working collaboratively with elected members and Trade Unions would also be desirable.
So, if you have the right experience, wish to be professionally challenged, and want to work for a leading public-sector organisation with a strong and supportive leadership team, then we would welcome your application.
