Hr NETWORK fighting back against COVID-19 with the publication of May issue of the magazine

Despite the lockdown and the unprecedented impact that COVID-19 has had on businesses across Scotland and the wider UK, Hr NETWORK is delighted and very excited to publish the May 2020 edition of the magazine, albeit in an ‘online only’ version.

The latest issue of Hr NETWORK features loads of great insight and updates including a wonderful tribute from Andy Moore for the heroes in the NHS, along with the UK’s many care workers, fighting the coronavirus on the frontline. There’s also a great feature on Crisis Management: Supporting HR Leaders by Lucy Adams, former HR Director at the BBC, as well as a reflective look at Homeworking and what it means for the future of work by Dr. Robert Coles from Roffey Park Institute.

Commenting on the publishing of the ‘online only’ version of Hr NETWORK magazine for May, founder and publisher Lee Turner (pictured) said: “We are delighted to be able to continue to provide our very popular magazine for all our dedicated and loyal readers, despite being unable to print the magazine for the first time in 15 years.”

Lee added: “Continuing with the ‘online only’ version of the magazine will be the case for the foreseeable future, which although is sad for me and the team personally, however ‘out of adversity comes opportunity’ and Hr NETWORK and our publishing company Media Avenue will very much be able to continue the fantastic work we started in Scotland over 15 years ago, supporting the Scottish HR profession, by making these temporary changes, for now.”

Hr NETWORK’s ‘Strategic Workforce Planning’ Conference & Exhibition planned for mid-May has been moved to a new date. The Conference & Exhibition will now take place on Thursday 27th August 2020 although the new date is subject to further guidance and instruction from the Scottish Government.

Lee Turner said: “Incredibly, most of our confirmed speakers and thankfully our many booked delegates, along with our hugely supportive and committed sponsors and exhibitors are able to attend the Conference on the revised date and the plan, as it stands for now, is to host the Conference in late August, by which time we hope it will be safe for people to attend.”

Hr NETWORK is also encouraging the HR profession to submit nominations for this years proposed Hr NETWORK Awards 2020. Nomination entries will be accepted until Sunday 31st May 2020.

The Gala Dinner is being planned to take place in Glasgow on Thursday 26th November 2020 and there is huge excitement amongst the team about the prospect of welcoming the HR profession to this event which will have an even greater emphasis for us all coming together in November and share the many stories of our lockdown experience.

There is exciting news to share relating to the Hr MARKET online portal. Due to the COVID-19, developers at Hr NETWORK have been able to upgrade the Hr MARKET portal and the Hr NETWORK team are re-launching this in a few weeks on a brand new platform with some incredible new features.

Lee Turner concluded: “We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has continued to support Hr NETWORK, particularly during these very difficult times and despite experiencing their own difficulties. I hope everyone enjoys their online copy of Hr NETWORK Magazine and we very much look forward to welcoming everyone to one of our forthcoming events, when the lockdown has been lifted and we can all try to get back to our ‘new’ normal. Stay safe!”
