A Glasgow-based international recruitment business which specialises in identifying and providing talent to businesses in more than 50 countries across the world, is preparing for a period of international and domestic growth having secured a Regional Selective Assistance grant from Scottish Enterprise to expand into new premises and create new jobs.

Solutions Driven, with a track record of delivery in the manufacturing, engineering, technology and healthcare sectors, has been awarded the grant to support significant growth in 2016, as it looks to target new international markets and create jobs.

The business, established in 2000, uses the latest talent identification and selection techniques, and is aiming to create around 20 new jobs in the next two years to add to the 45 people it currently employs at its Glasgow office. Five years ago the company employed 19 people in the UK.

The company is currently in the process of moving to its new premises. Solutions Driven will recruit a range of positions as it meets increased demand for its technologically-focused approach to international recruitment.

Across three distinct business areas of executive recruitment, talent sourcing and recruitment process outsourcing, Solutions Driven generates more than 60% of its annual turnover from international sources. It combines the very latest behavioural analysis and search software tools to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of candidates. By harnessing the latest digital interviewing applications it is able to save businesses time and money, and improve the quality of their recruitment processes.

In the past 12 months it has secured more than 200 appointments for a range of international clients including a Business Development Director for an electronics company expanding into Scandinavia, and a Vice President of Product Management for an automotive product manufacturer in the US. It has also worked with a number of leading Scottish manufacturers.

Gavin Speirs, CEO of Solutions Driven, said the business had experienced significant growth in recent years, despite the downturn in sectors such as oil and gas, which had previously been positive for the company.

He said: “Hiring and recruitment trends can be cyclical and even counter-cyclical in the case of the oil and gas sector. We are using our experience in a range of sectors and applying them to different geographies across the world. “By continually investing in our people and our business, we have experienced strong growth as we expand the services we provide, the technology we use and the markets in which we operate. The support we’ve been able to access from Scottish Enterprise will be another catalyst for our international growth and we are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead for our business and our customers.”

Rhona Allison, Company Growth Support Director, Scottish Enterprise, said: “Solutions Driven is an innovator in its industry, having successfully combined technology with investment in its team to grow the business across multiple markets. We are pleased that our investment will help the company create more jobs in Scotland, as well as supporting new international market development. 2016 marks an exciting time for the business, with the landmark move to new premises and the global opportunities ahead.”
