Businesses looking to attract the top workforce talent should galvanise their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities according to a new survey from Regus.

45% of UK professionals state that it is important for their employer to be involved in charity work. And more than a third (37%) would choose the more charitable company if confronted with two equal job possibilities. Respondents were asked whether their own industry sector should do more CSR related activity, and the banking, retail and media and marketing industries were identified as most in need of such initiatives.

In a competitive job market businesses are looking for every advantage in securing the most talented individuals. Now, as news breaks of the Treasury’s proposed cut-backs on salary sacrifice perks, community and charity involvement could become an increasingly powerful differentiator.
